Having pretty and nice decor in your home doesn’t have to cost you a fortune
Neither do the cute the little pots they’re placed in, either
If you’re a frequent reader of my blog or someone who knows my interior design style, you know I am all about the potted plants, greenery or floral arrangements placed throughout the home. Whether they’re real or artificial I think the look, feel and mood they can encourage through a home is important.
However, I know if you go to a home decor shop or even a place like Hobby Lobby or TJ Maxx, home decor merchendise (especially greenery and floral arrangements) can throw anyone over their intended budget quickly. They’re not cheap.
Good thing I am here to show you how to have some of these high dollar gems for your home on the cheap having your guests question the priceless look you’ve got going on this season!
Let’s do this!
A couple small to medium pots from the thrift store
I purchased 2 small small to medium pots at my local thrift store for 25 cents a piece (big spender, I know!).
some artificial greenery stems & Floral foam
I think I ordered the ones I used on Amazon.
Some Paint and brushes
If you happen to find some pots or containers you think will work however don’t seemed to be thrilled with their color or design, a little paint and a paint brush will fix that, o problem! I painted 1 of 2 containers I used!
These are the pots I used
So, I liked the gray one just the way it was however, though I loved the texture of the brown one, it had writing on the back I wanted to hide. So, I painted it!
I painted it white then gray to get a good solid cover over that writing
Then I chose another color to paint over the base coats and then another color to dry brush over the textured parts of the pot
Next, I took floral foam and the greenery stems and made the arrangements
Easy as Pie, Less Expensive than Purchasing at a Home Decor Store, yet JUST AS CUTE!
Thanks for being here and learning about another one of my Home Decor DIY’S
Love to ALL
